Twisted Ross Birthday Bash April 2011

The past few weekends have been nothing but fun as I decided to celebrate life like I do but in a special way running up to my Birthday with events getting bigger every weekend. So anyway, it’s my Birthday today and what a weekend it was of celebrations and it didn’t stop there. Below is just a sneak preview into what went down but let me paint you a picture and show you how I do it… Twisted Ross Style baby.

If you want to talk about a marathon of fun, come with me and take a glimpse into my Saturday celebrations. I’m synonymous with living life to the full and what better way to enjoy 31ºC of fun in the sun with a gentle breeze than kicking the day off on a Yacht with some close friends. The vessel of choice? The Nautilus. Decks of fun both outside and in and together with music, quality people and some social lubrication things were definitely going to get both interesting and twisted. Even before the Yacht set off at noon on Saturday there was a twisted vibe in the air.

When the Yacht set off, it was nothing but the sun kissing the skin, beautiful people, savoury snacks and an endless amount of alcohol which included various coolers, Veuve Clicquot and Peroni. The drinks of choice from Twisted Ross to enjoy on a beautiful Summer day on the Nautilus Yacht. We were not only celebrating the Summer days but living life and the importance of making the most of every moment. Great conversation, music and scenery provided the perfect backdrop to what would be the perfect day. Once the Yacht docked off of Clifton, some of the men decided to take a dip or a few. It was cold to say the least but refreshing and sobering, giving many of them a second breath for the rest of the day ahead.

While we were chilling and enjoying the picturesque view, I decided it was time to pop some bottles and live life the way it is meant to be in style, elegance and with that twisted flair. Quality friends and good people enjoyed Champagne on deck while some memories and secrets were shared. So much love and happiness. Wonderful. Before I knew it, a few hours had past and the Yacht was already on the way back to the harbour where we enjoyed the views and some great but rather tipsy moments on the upper deck.

To recover from the fun, a chill session was definitely in order and what better place to be than the Ambassador Pool Deck where Summer Sessions were held during the Summer with Peroni. You can read more about that here. So much for chilling. Shooters, Peroni, more Champagne and some very strong Cocktails were order of the day. Thank you to someone amazing here for her party tricks which really added some interest as well as the interesting Pool action but you had to have been there for that one. As the alcohol soaked in, so did the sun and everyone present enjoyed the sunset and the accompanying chilled moments and music. I couldn’t resist and opened my gifts and my word… Thank you all. You know who you are.

Just as I thought things were calming down, more guests arrived and the fun had just begun as the day was far from over. Some freshen up time was perhaps needed but you know how I do it… All day and all night long. Running it 24/7. This was a day filled with celebrations so there was no need to stop as we were rocking it.

Salt Deli & Vodka Bar was next on the cards. I walked in with a smile on my face. One of my favourite tracks were playing. House Music baby. Goosebumps and a moment which summed up what the day was about. WOW. My mind was blown. Big room House Music and vocals almost got me dancing but I was patient as the night was still young. I associate myself with excellence and what better place to enjoy a fine range of drinks, canapé and food than at the Salt Deli & Vodka Bar in Bantry Bay opposite the Ambassador Hotel. The service was excellent and the food was decadent and delicious. You definitely need to check this place out either to start your evening out or to enjoy a great evening with some good music and a great vibe. The small things and touches made it special. Big thank you to Tim who took the time out to personally ensure we were happy. I’ll definitely be back. Perhaps one of Cape Town’s best kept secrets. Check out some of the food further down and you’ll know why I’m mad about this place and why it’s the place to be.

I was having so much fun I even had to push my dinner reservation back and thanks to the wonderful ladies at Sevruga for understanding. When we got to Sevruga, elegance, clean cut feeling and food were simply out of this world. A full three course meal with palette cleanser was the order of the day. That together with professional and friendly staff who always made sure my table was taken care of, the mouth-watering dishes, sushi and drinks. Of course the highlight was not only the setting and atmosphere but the intimate dinner surrounded by close friends and some rather interesting conversation. Of course a few secrets came out of the woodwork and some fun at the table which included jellybeans but I’ll leave that to the imagination. On my part, between the Calamari, Lamb and Chocolate Fondant, I was in food heaven. I’ll be back to enjoy more of that and the famous White Chocolate Martini. Sevruga for me really just rounded things off nicely and I’ll definitely be back to share more moments of joy, love and happiness with good people and great food.

The party didn’t end there as we headed to the club by which time my phone was on the verge of dying and so was my camera. Just shows what an eventful and exciting day it was. Things were busy and quality. At the club I busted out few moves which definitely raised some smiles but it was all in good fun. I wanted to keep things intimate this year but you know how that goes. All in all it was very special. To sum up my day it was “La Dolce Vita” with sprinkled with good times, Twisted Ross and that midas touch. Amazing company and friends and a place where all the smiles were real and so much love and good times were shared. Thank you to those who shared this special day with me. It was one to celebrate and to remember
If you want to check out more, just scroll down. Prepare for the bigger picture because that’s how we did it. Living large and free. If you’re curious as to how old I am, I’m still on the second floor but forever young. Alors On Danse
