Sugarhut Club Cape Town Launch

27 January 2011 No Comment

So where was I last Friday? Well January 21st signaled a number of events in the city but I went with attending the Sugarhut Club Launch in Cape Town which is inspired by the UK nightclub of the same name and definitely did not regret the decision.

I arrived a little late because things got a little twisted before hand but once inside, I was quite surprised that what seemed like quite a small venue from the outside, The Sugarhut Club in Cape Town featured a large bar area as well as different themed areas and overall appeals to a wide range of individuals.

Champagne was enjoyed in what appeared to be a chic and elegant room featuring a classic design and birdcages surrounding the lighting and what started off a very chilled evening, soon turned into an interesting night as it progressed.

As the music worked its way up during the evening, very eclectic sounds graced the Sugarhut Club ranging from laid back beach house, chill, ethnic, lo-fi, house and more ambient and upbeat tracks with a touch of jazz and some classic kareoke tracks thrown in. Definitely an interesting selection but it was all flowing smoothly and so were the drinks.

A number of friends of the Twisted Lifestyle were there and everyone enjoyed the interesting fusion meals as well as the belly dancers. At first there was a bit of doubt with the location but once inside everything came together and despite the venue being rather full, I was looked after with some great service from the staff.

In addition aside from the pork and beef served, one of my favourites was the “Pizza” consisting of parma ham, parmesan, rocket and artichokes that proved to be an interesting taste sensation. All of this together with quality company and great friends made the night out even more fun. Check out some of the pictures below of who was there and what went down.

The Sugarhut Club Cape Town is open from Tuesday – Sunday and has specials from 5pm – 7pm. If you’d like some more info, call them on +2721 801 5699.
