Ryk Neethling Wine Launch Val De Vie

13 February 2011 2 Comments

So where was the place to be last Friday? No where else except the Ryk Neethling Wine Launch at Val De Vie Estate of course. Last week was busy but there was definitely no better place to be. The beautiful surroundings and the picturesque estate that is Val De Vie.

The Ryk Neethling Wine Launch event itself was a formal affair and everyone was stunning. Of course yours truly had to add a twist but that’s the way of the Twisted Lifestyle.

The late afternoon / evening kicked off with some rather interesting cocktails containing the ingredients below but that proved to be dangerous and almost immediately an impact was made but you had to have been there to have experienced it all.

Aside from the amazing decor it was all about ambiance both inside and out and there was definitely a unique atmosphere. An atmosphere that when combined with location, elegance and the event itself was simply perfect.

While enjoying the evening, guests were treated to a Polo match on the estate which was preceded by a display of thoroughbreds and some quality conversation.

As dusk hit and the evening began to set in the mood was drawn and the event really livened up but more about that later.

Had some time to chat to Ryk about his wine, life, how it all started as well as his dreams, association to the Val De Vie estate and history of how the wine came to being. All I’ve got to say is it definitely gives some insight that this is just not a wine slapped together with a brand. It’s so much more than that. In addition, such a humble guy.

There were a number of VIPs, friends and guests at the event but a overall a great selection of people coming together to not only enjoy a quality evening but a great wine made by and associated with a great down to earth person.

The wine is best paired with some fillet or as it suggests on the label kudu which I need to get my hands on to really enjoy this wine. This is how the Twisted Lifestyle is lived and what better way than to enjoy some quality red wine.

Great jazzy and fusion sounds rounded the evening off nicely and some great work by Saxophonist Dan Shout and the rest of the band. That plus great wine, quality company and a well organised and orchestrated event added to the perfect location and evening really made this the place to be on Friday evening.
