Louis Vuitton Designs Housing For World Cup

6 May 2010 One Comment

Louis Vuitton has created a special housing for the World Cup in which it will be held before it is presented to the winning team in South Africa at the end of the world cup.

The 18-carat gold, 32cm-high, 6kg trophy is currently transported in a battered aluminium case.

Fifa requested that Louis Vuitton design something more appropriate.

When you have the most beautiful girl in the world you hope she will wear the most beautiful dress, said Jérôme Valcke, secretary general of Fifa. The special case is being hand-made by one Louis Vuitton craftsman from its Asnières workshop near Paris, its price tag a closely guarded secret.

According to Fifa, the cup will be brought into the stadium inside its bag and lifted out by a Louis Vuitton ambassador in front of one billion television viewers.

That is so cool, it is the same with the UEFA Trophy, i was involved in the UEFA trophy tour last year, it travels in a battered case, i said they should have something better designed…
