Feldmann’s One Hundred Thousand $ Artwork

2 June 2011 No Comment

What would you do with a $100,000 prize? You would probably buy yourself something nice, but 70-years-old artist Hans-Peter Feldmann had a better idea.

After winning the money as the Biennial Hugo Boss prize for his contributions to the development of contemporary art, Feldmann took it all and created an imposing installation made of one hundred thousand $1 notes (out-of-circulation currency).

Each note was carefully pinned during almost 13 days of work. The installation will be there for us to admire until November 2, 2011 at the Guggenheim Foundation, New York.
