ColorWare Apple iPad 2

After giving an exclusive chrome treatment to the Beats by Dr. Dre headphones recently, ColorWare has now announced the availability of the hotly awaited iPad 2. Offered in a wide range of custom colors, the ColorWare custom painted iPad 2 is available with either the gloss finish or a Softouch finish. While a new ColorWare iPad 2 costs $900, you also have the option to send in your iPad 2, and they will color it for $400. On the other hand, the 3G AT&T version will set you back $1030.

Aston Martin Experience iPhone App

Aston Martin has announced its second iPhone app, a tool which the company claims harnesses never-before-seen technologies to allow drivers to record information about their journey.
The Aston Martin Experience follows the launch of the free Explore app in December of last year, but this version comes at a cost – but not one that should put Aston Martin buyers off installing it on their iPhones.

LaCie’s New Flash Drive By Christofle

LaCie has teamed up with French luxury brand Christofle to produce a silver-plated, pebble-shaped 4GB USB flash drive called “Galet”. The luxury USB flash drive, which sells for $130, is plated with silver and shipped in its own pouch and gift box from LaCie’s Paris factory.

The drive includes LaCie’s password-protection software and a matching amount of online storage via Wuala, providing extra protection, and is USB 3 compatible. It weighs a mere 1.34 ounces and comes with an optional strap for adding onto a keychain, measuring 3.5 x 1.5 x …

Google Buys New York Office Building

Google said today that it had purchased an 18-story building in New York to house its more than 2000 strong workforce in the city. Google did not announce a purchase price for the building at 111 Eighth Avenue in the Chelsea neighborhood but the New York Post put the cost at 1.77 billion dollars.

Sony To Retire The Walkman

WOW. Another Legendary piece of equipment is coming to an end. Japanese electronics pioneer Sony said it would ship the last Walkman cassette players this spring after a 31-year run. First the turntable, now this.
In July 1979 the first Walkman portable cassette players were produced. The last production run for the Walkman would be in April 2011, Sony said earlier today.

Mac OS X 10.7 Back To The Mac

So this morning Apple sent out some invitations for their Back To The Mac event next week on the 20th of October. What’s interesting is the invite has the Apple Logo but it also has a Lion peaking out from behind it.
Before you get too excited, don’t expect OS X 10.7 to be released at this event. Instead rather a teaser of what’s to come but the Lion and what role it plays will definitely be interesting.
