Even Warren Buffett was throwing his diamonds up. It was definitely the party this week and Mr Carter never fails to disappoint when it comes to parties and events.

A photo of a receipt from a night out at Cavalli Club Dubai at the Fairmont Dubai Hotel has shown a guest spending AED 387988 or US$105630 on January 2nd 2011. What a way to kick off the new year 2012. The bill is dated January 2nd, 3:19am, includes a 6 litre bottle of Cristal and several 2 litre Cristal Champagne bottles. Operations Manager David Lescarret has said that spending of this nature is not unusual at Cavalli Club in Dubai and that the club has seen a number of high end spenders since it has opened.

China have taken a Russian military aircraft carrier named Kiev and have transformed it into a luxury hotel at the cost of an estimated US$15 million. The “floating hotel” is reported to be called Tianjin and it’s believed that this unique take on luxury will draw interest when it opens.

The carrier has been transformed into 148 luxury rooms which includes 2 presidential suits as well as 3 VIP guest rooms and 137 standard rooms. It also features a dining and common areas decked out in traditional oriental color and pattern schemes.

Liu Chang the marketing manager has said that China didn’t previously have aircraft carriers and that as people are curious about it, they can come to Tianjin and fulfill their curiosity. It will be interesting to see the success of this once it opens.
