Hermès, the luxury Parisian fashion house, says it cannot produce enough silk scarfs and luxury handbags to meet soaring demand. Despite the way the world is headed, Hermès announced there was a increase in their first half of the year profits to €291 Million to the demand for its Kelly and Birkin handbags in the US and Japan.

300 bottles of Chateau Lafite Rothschild has sold for almost US$540000 in Hong Kong, setting a world record price for a single wine lot auctioned this year. The collection spanning 1981 to 2005 was knocked down for HK$4.2 million or US$539250 at Christie’s two-day Autumn wine sale.
