So this past weekend was a scorcher out and well there were so many things happening. What I can say is there was no better place to be than the BMW International Polo Series at Val De Vie Estate for the South Africa vs India game. The cruise out there was smooth and relaxing and the roof had to be down on such an amazing day. Even on arrival, there was a sense of occasion as guests were welcomed in, in style.

If you were there this past weekend and chose the Champions Pavilion VIP Area, you made the right choice as not only was I there but this was the best place to enjoy the Polo, beautiful people, great company, champagne and of course check out a wide selection of BMW vehicles.

There were a number of games, parades and displays on field and everyone really enjoyed checking out the new BMW Models and special editions on display. Of particular interest was the crazy BMW M3 Frozen Edition, The New BMW 6 Series 650i and the BMW Z4 sDrive35is model. You can check out some of these pictures further down.

There was such a special atmosphere at Val De Vie and everyone looked forward to the main game: South Africa vs India. The game was exciting with quite a lot of back and forth but in the end South Africa beat India 10 – 7.

It was wonderful catching up with so many great people, enjoying a variety of meals, canapé and drinking some good wine and champagne while enjoying the Polo. Great to enjoy Ryk Neethling’s Wine at the place it originated. Everything from intimate discussions thereafter to socialising in groups, everyone brought the right friendly attitude, there to enjoy the day, the game and the company, making for an even more special evening.

Polo is an amazing game to know about and was played as early as the BC times in Persia. If you’re unfamiliar with Polo, it’ll be worth checking out as well as learning about chukkas, hooking, handicaps and mallets to help understand this wonderful game better.
