Ferrari 599 GTO Sold Out

Ferrari presented its fastest production car yet, the Ferrari 599 GTO, to a selected group of exclusive clients. Even those who were exclusive enough to score an invite, some left disappointed as those who were wanting to get their hands on the newest Ferrari addition are sadly out of luck as Ferrari announced on the evening that all 599 models of this limited edition masterpiece were sold.
The 599 GTO made its first public appearance at this event since Ferrari announced the car on April 8th 2010. The exclusive event was held at the Ducal Palace, which is located in a military academy located in Ferrari’s hometown of Modena, Italy. The event saw guests presented with 599 GTOs driven by Luca Badoer, Giancarlo Fisichella and Dario Benuzzi.

The 6l V12 Engine is only the third car to have the Gran Turismo Omologatoa moniker. Previous cars were the 1962-1963 250 GTO, along with the 1984-1986 288 GTO. “We’ve created a wonderful car, the most powerful in our history,” said Ferrari CEO Luca de Montezemolo. “I wanted to give it a historical name like GTO, because it deserves it”.
Next up for the 599 GTO is its official world reveal at the 2010 Beijing motor show. If you want to see more Ferrari 599 GTO specifications, click here.
